R-16DI-8DO

R-16DI-8DO is a mixed digital module with dual 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports and a front Micro USB programming port. The instrument is designed for flexible wiring requirements, limited installation space and high-density I/O applications with integrated Ethernet networking. R-16DI-8DO features 16 PNP/NPN digital inputs that can also be configured as 32-bit totalisers and 8 digital relay outputs with a maximum rating of 30 V / 1 A. All totalisers are saved in non-volatile memory (FeRAM). The module provides 1.500 Vac isolation between inputs, outputs and the remaining low-voltage circuits.

Configuration can be carried out using dedicated software and a web server with HTML5 support. The IP address, MAC address and firmware version associated with each module can be identified or configured on the LAN using the SDD (Seneca Discovery Device) tool. R-16DI-8DO supports both ModBUS TCP-IP communication and RS485 serial communication using the ModBUS RTU protocol. R-16DI-8DO can be connected in Ethernet daisy-chain mode with fault bypass to maintain the Ethernet connection even if one module in the chain fails. Digital signals can be duplicated on one or more modules in Peer-to-Peer mode (I/O mirror function). Another advanced function is “ModBUS Passthrough”, which allows the module to route requests received from Modbus TCP-IP to RS485, effectively acting as a gateway.
